Jason Bennett is the Chief Marketing Officer of Lifeafar. He serves as a key member of the Lifeafar leadership team, overseeing all marketing efforts for the Medellín, Colombia-based company. His primary responsibilities include leading global brand strategy, creating and executing all marketing and sales campaigns, developing and implementing key partnerships and collaborations, and overseeing print, digital and social media.
Jason brings more than 15 years of experience leading Fortune 500 brands to his role, including senior executive positions at Gap Inc., where he was responsible for nearly $1 billion in annual sales for the Banana Republic brand. Among notable achievements during his Gap Inc. career, Jason pioneered numerous successful and innovative global marketing campaigns, consumer relationship management (CRM) initiatives, loyalty programs, print and digital strategies, product launches, and partnerships – consistently beating critical key performance indicator (KPI) benchmarks along the way.
After departing Gap Inc. in 2015, Jason founded True Star Consulting and led strategy, creative development, customer experience, and media planning for brands across multiple industries, including retail, food and beverage, entertainment, finance, health and wellness, transportation, technology, and real estate. True Star took Jason around the world, and during his travels he fell for the city of Medellín and the people of Colombia. Inspired by his experience of purchasing a home in his newly adopted city, Jason joined the Lifeafar team and looks forward to empowering other travelers to fall in love with the South American city.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Oregon. He enjoys exploring new cities and the great outdoors, attending electronic dance music events, and sipping martinis with his 88-year-old grandmother.
